Great British Menu

It should come as no surprise that as well as making ceramics we have a real love of food, hence why we make plates, bowls, jugs and any form of dining of kitchen staple. So when the likes of Master Chef and Great British Menu come around we are ready and waiting with the obligatory snack in hand, because you can’t watch a cooking show without one!

Clip from Series 18, Episode 21: Northern Ireland: Judging (first shown 16 Mar 2023)

When Gemma Austin, owner of A Peculiar Tea restaurant, got in touch to say she would like to use our Porcelain Frill Plates for her main course on the Great British Menu we were delighted, and needless to say there were a few squeals when we saw our plates being served to the judges!

This was Gemma’s third time competing in the Great British Menu and we made sure to tune in every evening to see what irresistible dishes she had created. Although Gemma didn’t get a dish to banquette, she did incredibly well getting through to the judges chamber and that perfectly formed pie will forever been engrained in our memory.

Since the show, we have supplied Gemma with a set of our Porcelain plates for use in her restaurant, as well as some of our Porcelain Ebba platters. So, if you’re in Belfast anytime soon and happen to fancy a unique dining experience, be sure to visit Gemma and her team at A Peculiar Tea restaurant where they serve themed dinners and afternoon tea with a twist.
