clarence court - the egg that wears the crown

‘Fabulous Eggs by Fabulous Birds’.

For the strapline alone we love Clarence Court and any egg that dons a crown gets our vote!

We have long been fans of Clarence Court eggs, not only for the aesthetically pleasing, pastel shells, but for their delicious taste and indulgent, creamy yolk. If you haven’t tried one of their beautiful eggs yet then you need to immediately.

The company was established in 1928 by a gentleman called Clarence Elliott, who decided to bring back a rare breed of jungle fowl birds that he discovered during his travels around the exotic region of South America, Patagonia. After a long journey back to Gloucestershire, these beautiful birds were crossbred to create pedigree hens that lay superlative eggs with powdery pastel, hard shells and deep golden yolks. 90 years later, and these hens continue to live a glorious, free range life, never rushed, laying eggs in their own time. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

The perfect home for such majestic eggs, our Speckled Egg Holder is now part of the Clarence Boutique, their online shop which sells all things egg related. Get yours here!

One of the first products we produced at Every Story, each tray is made from a flecked clay that has been hand-moulded into the perfect shape and size to hold delicate eggs. The natural speckles of the clay peek through a soft white glaze that gives a beautiful farmhouse finish.
