It finally feels like spring is in the air, the clocks have gone forward readying us for the lighter mornings and evenings, with the promise of warmer days ahead. Our gardens are starting to awake from their winter slumber, as colourful crocuses pepper the ground and vibrant green shoots begin to emerge. Spring is such a beautiful season that brings with it a sense of new beginnings and renewed energy, but most importantly it means that Easter is just around the corner!

For us, as it is for many, Easter is a time of indulgence, there is nothing more comforting or mouth watering than the wonderful aroma of a hot cross bun toasting, or the satisfying crack of the first chocolate egg. It’s a time that conjures many happy memories, but some of our fondest are from family gatherings, where the table had been beautifully laid to host an array of delicious home-cooked dishes.

We learnt from our mother that laying the table is just as important as the meal that will grace it.
